Относно компанията

Banco Santander SA is a multinational commercial bank, founded and based in Santander and Madrid, Spain. Banco Santander is one of Euro Stoxx 50 components. In May 2016, Santander was number 37 among the publicly traded companies in Forbes Global 2000. This is the largest Spanish bank that focuses on working in 10 countries: Spain, Germany, Poland, Portugal, the UK, Brazil, Mexico, Chile, Argentina, and the US. The company also works in other European countries and in China through consumer financing.

As of 2017, Santander is the fifth largest bank in the EU with aggregate assets under management (AUM) amounting to nearly $1.4T.

In 2019, the profits reached €6.515M.

Disregarding the net costs including €46M on re-structuring in Europe, the core profit in Q1 2020 amounted to €1,977M, +1% YoY, or +8% currency adjusted. This was driven by the increase in profits in most Americas markets and the rising number of customers, if just slightly affected by the pandemic. The customer base grew sustainably, compared to Q1 2019, with the customer earnings rising by 3%. The net interest income went up in seven out the ten key markets, while the net commission income was up by 3%, loan segment added 7%, and deposit segment rose by 6%. In the Americas, loans and funds soared by around 15%, with Europe lagging somewhat behind.
